A hidden gem in Haast

The restaurant’s views were breathtaking, and the staff was incredibly friendly, making for a memorable dining experience.

However, we faced challenges with luggage transport over wet grass and some issues with noise from nearby guests.

My experience began poorly due to the uninviting entrance and outdated decor that immediately put me off. The check-in process felt disorganized, with staff appearing overwhelmed. Additionally, I faced inconvenient luggage transport across wet grass, which added to my frustration. The lack of amenities, like room fridges, made the stay even less enjoyable.

great access to parks and stunning river views

the location is fantastic, just a short drive from the beach and within walking distance to the beautiful Haast River Safari, which made my weekend exploration super enjoyable.

i was just shocked, shocked i tell you, by the absolute lack of fridges in the rooms and that awful buffet breakfast. watered down orange juice? unforgivable. i almost thought of leaving a decent review until i remembered how i deserved a complimentary upgrade for putting up with it all. disapointing!

Powerful shower experience!

Stopped at this hotel on my way from Otago to the West Coast. Great bar and restaurant with beautiful views of the surroundings. Room was clean and comfy, but it needed some updates. No fridge in the room, which was a surprise, and the heating options were limited. even on low, it felt quite hot. The friendly reception staff allowed me to park my motorbike on the lawn, which was convenient. Dinner was good, especially the lamb shank, but the breakfast could have been better. I didn't enjoy the limited options at breakfast and some items kept running out. Overall, it was a decent spot to break the trip, with a nice atmosphere, but a few tweaks would improve the experience significantly.

The restaurant on-site served a delicious meal at a reasonable price, making dining convenient after a long day of work. The quiet atmosphere allowed for restful sleep, and the overall cleanliness of the unit was commendable.

Had an awesome time with my friends! We enjoyed the eco-nature jet boat tour on the Waiatoto River, exploring stunning landscapes. The restaurant was a highlight. great food and a super relaxed vibe. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet had tons of options. The location is perfect for adventures like trout fishing and jet boating.

We really enjoyed the nearby Waiatoto River Safari, which was perfect for our whole family, including our newborn. The large room provided us enough space for everyone, and we appreciated the on-site dining options, especially after a long day exploring.

My wife says that parking was inconvenient for families.

heartland hotel offered a nice room that was comfortable and clean. the meals and drinks were excellent, especially after long adventures. also, the location is ideal for exploring nearby attractions, including the stunning jackson bay.
